FAQs: Purchasing a Puppy

Spay/Neuter Contracts:

All of our puppies are sold as pets, not to be used for breeding and will go home with a spay/neuter contract. Spay/Neuter procedures will be done at buyers expense.  We recommend these procedures be performed once the animal has completed their puberty but not before they are one year old.  See the The Corgi Diaries for a post on the arguments for spay/neutering.

AKC Registration:

We register litters with the AKC and will provide litter registration paperwork so you may register your puppy as you wish. We want to emphasize that our goal is to provide the most healthy, beautiful, pet-quality puppies with the best disposition possible.  Their parents are part of our family and our goal is for our puppies to become part of yours.  Although our Corgis are beautiful examples of the breed, we do not show them in the ring.  The show process is arduous, expensive, and time consuming, and we are a very busy family, with full time jobs and hectic lives.

Whelping:

Our puppies are whelped in an EZWhelp box designed for that purpose.  The whelping box and the pups are in the middle of our living room, center of attention, and in the presence of their dam, sire, and humans, from the time they are whelped.  At about 4-5 weeks of age, they begin to spend their days outside and inside with the rest of the Corgi Gang.

Cost and Purchasing:

Standard coated puppies bred and raised in our home are $2000 (this includes the $500 deposit).

Once your puppy application has been approved, you will be placed on the wait list.  We will need to know your preferences such as coat color and sex at this time. If you have no preference and just want the first available pup that is always an option.

If a litter is pending, and pups are available for purchase, a $500 deposit is required and will be applied to your final purchase price.  Final payment is due the day you pick up your puppy.

All payments are due via PayPal. The deposit will be due via the link at the bottom of the Puppy Application page. Please only pay the deposit if we have contacted you and requested you do so.

Our current wait list for red standard coated and tri-color standard coated puppies is 12 months. We want to make sure our dam, Gigi, is healthy and is not giving birth to litters too often, which is why our wait list time is currently so long. If you would like information about your status on the wait list please use the Contact Us form on this site to send us a message.
